Apart of Erica Catherine's US State Flower Collection, the Red Clover Flower represents the State of Vermont. The fun Red Clover flower is shown on top of a teal color background.

The Red Clover was named the State Flower of Vermont in 1893. The naming of the Red Clover as the state flower came from the excitement of the 1893 World's exposition in Chicago. Vermont locals wanted to have their own unique state flower to represent the independent nature of their state, so they chose the red clover. English colonists originally brought the red clover to northeast north America, where it has since spread. The Red Clover can be found wide spread across the state's hay fields, roadsides, and highways. The common sighting of the clover has since become symbolic of Vermont's scenic countryside. During the 1940's the red clover could be found across 10 million acres of farmland. However due to the change in crop rotations, it now has waned as a farm crop. This won't stop the beautiful flower from enhancing Vermont's scenic hills, valleys, mountain and lake sides.

Inspired by the natural and antique details that call to Erica's Old soul, she aims to bring that special spirit to all of her designs. Each drawing is created by hand using a mixture of graphite drawing with watercolor layering over the top to create the ethereal and vintage inspired work that harks back to turn of the century botanical illustration.
